    Pen to Paper

    For a week now, I’ve been racking my brain trying to remember the name of my favorite author from the fifth grade.  Yep.  You read that right.  Fifth grade.  Why?  Well, because there was only one time in my entire life that I wrote someone a fan letter, and I was in the fifth grade when I did it.  In my neatest cursive, I wrote a carefully worded letter to an author and mailed it. Now, so many years have gone by that I can no longer remember his name…and that makes me sad.  How is it that someone who meant so much to me once is now a forgotten…

    Ramblings of a Dieter

    Five weeks ago, I began my adventure into the world of weight loss.  I quit smoking three years ago, and in the process gained seventy pounds.  So, finally deciding that a healthy mind and healthy body go hand in hand, I decided it was time to make a change. Change sucks. Now, to be fair, I blame all of this on the weight loss shows that are shown incessantly on television.  I watch and become motivated thinking that I, too, will be able to lose 5-10 pounds a week if I work out every day and eat right.  Well, guess what?  I work out six days a week and eat…
